Opinion: I'm a flight attendant. Keep your #@$%&! seat belt on
·1 min
As a flight attendant for many years, I’ve encountered fearful fliers who are particularly worried about turbulence. Despite recent news stories, I am still surprised to see so many passengers without their seat belts fastened. Turbulence incidents seem to be more extreme, resulting in injuries for both flight attendants and passengers. Flight attendants are now more cautious during light turbulence and may stop providing service altogether. There are four types of turbulence: light, moderate, severe, and extreme. Passengers should always keep their seat belts fastened, even when the seat belt sign is off.
